Strictly Come Dancing: Week Three – Fresh scandals and frenemies

Week 3 means one thing; Movie Week! This year may have been one of the best movie weeks that I can remember. There was some real surprises and everybody really stepped up!

With Susannah being the first to leave the competition last weekend, it’s really on for the couples to keep improving and avoid that dreaded dance-off. The standard is really high this year so one off night could be the end for you. I must say, hats off to the costume, hair and make-up departments because every celeb and pro looked incredible!

Strictly Come Dancing: Week One on the floor with some surprising scores

🎵 It’s the most wonderful time of the year. 🎵

No, not Christmas time. It’s Strictly time, of course! It just so happens to also be the countdown to Christmas but Strictly first and everything else later!

And what a phenomenal start it was. I was pleasantly surprised by all the celebrities, they all raised their game and it’s only week 1!

Strictly: The Final Three and Farewell Len

How is this series over already? I know everyone’s been saying it but it really has been the best series so far! The talent has been through the roof and there wasn’t one celebrity who couldn’t dance. Even Ed Balls could move and he was supposed to be this year’s ‘joke’ act. Before I discuss the winner, let’s take a look at all of the dances from the night.

Strictly: Hung, drawn and quartered

How are we at the quarter finals already? We’ve sorted out the wheat from the chaff and are down to the final 5. We’ve seen countless routines but now we’re seeing the performance shine through and the judges are picking up on the smallest of mistakes!

We were treated to 3 group dances this week too: Anton’s homage to the musicals, a West Side Story tribute and a Chicago-inspired number. I have to say that I am slightly biased because West Side Story is my favourite musical so of course that one was my favourite! Karen and Janette were just perfect as Anita and Maria; I just wish that the dance was longer!

Strictly: Blackpool bangers

Week 9 has ended and I can’t believe we now only have 6 couples left! The standard is so high now then genuinely any couple can go home if they don’t get enough votes!

I loved that there were two group dances this week too and that both were a nod to the musicals: firstly, A Chorus Line-inspired dance with top hats and tails and Sunday’s had a rock and roll Hairspray vibe (which is right up my street).

Strictly: Gangnam style, singing guile and Blackpool in a little while

scd-judges-10

Another week has been and gone and what a show Saturday night was! I thought every single couple improved from last week and really gave it their best shot as they need the votes to get through to Blackpool next week! I can’t believe we’re halfway through now so here’s the round-up of all the action from week 8.

Strictly: Song Lowes and dancer woes

oti-and-danny

Week 7 is done and dusted! I thought overall this week was a great week for most couples. Most of them improved on their scores from last week and they are all upping their game because this year is the tightest competition we’ve had in years.

It’s getting to the point were getting 8’s across the board means you’re near the bottom of the leaderboard which just shows how amazing the talent is this year.

Strictly Come Dancing: “This is gonna be a corker!”

The glitter, the spray tans, the six-packs,  Claudia’s fringe and Tess’ awful jokes are back. And boy, is Planet Strictly planning to brighten up your weekend for the 14th series. And – get your tissues ready – it is Head Judge Len Goodman’s final series. The only upside of that is that we may get Arlene Phillips back on the panel.
