The arrival of Adam was just the start of the Evil Cilla’s tricks for the Love Island contestants as they were hit with several surprises in the weekend from hell.
In between arguing and making-up with Kady the Kid ™, Scott found time to read a text and deliver the news that there would be a recoupling and an eviction based on the public vote. Within seconds you could literally see Zara mentally abusing the voodoo doll she had made of Olivia.
It only got worse when Miss GB preceded to tell Adam that her love life was crap and that every relationship ended badly! WHY WOULD YOU?
It was the equivalent of calling your ex when drunk and on the way home from an awful first date. I can’t help but think this made his decision for him. Zara seems like a nice girl, but she isn’t half intense. You can’t blame him for believing he might have a better time in the house with Olivia. In fairness to Miss GB it appears Liv has cooled her interest in him since gaining immunity which shouldn’t be much of a surprise given she was happy to sleep with Rykard while his squeeze Rachel was in the next bed.
Zara made cooking scrambled eggs sound like a nuclear mission, so you can understand why the possibility of being forced to spend time with her wasn’t at the top of his bucket list. Gotta admit that I struggled not to chuckle when he called her a ‘cracker’ with his gorgeous Irish accent, but most of you are too young to get the reference so I’ll move swiftly on.
With that said, I do feel for Zara. It’s never nice not feeling like you’re good enough. Whether professionally or personally it can be deeply upsetting to feel that way. I really feel like Zara needs to become truly happy in herself before being happy with someone else.
In fact the most sensible advice came from Scott. “She’s just picking the wrong guys.”
There is someone out there for you Zara, if you stop looking you’ll probably find him a lot sooner. And it’ll be a nice surprise and well worth the wait.
The only up side to the Adam – Olivia coupling was seeing Kady the Kid act like an adult. She supported Zara in the way a real friend does, by telling her how great her boobs are. Although I disliked her again when she continued crying and made it all about her.
Anyway, I’m sure there will be more time to moan about her juvenile behaviour before the series is over.
So the Flack is back, and even I can’t deny she looks good. It’s just a shame her news is the complete opposite. I must admit her obvious pleasure in telling them the twist lifted her up in my estimations.
You can’t help but love Nathan + Cara and Malin + Terry who genuinely seem like they would be attracted to, and like each other in real life. Although someone might want to get Tel a bigger pot for that wooden spoon be likes so much. Eh Tel, there’s a big difference between being honest and real, and just being a heavily tattooed little sh*t-stirrer.
Either way Tom and Sophie seem to be back on track for the time being. I get the sense that she does like him but under the glare of the cameras she’s nervous about him mugging her off. We can all see she has zero to worry about.
So they all went down to the beach for a party – Woohoo! – and the twist was brought by Flacky who looked very bright in a yellow ensemble with neon orange nails. It was no surprise that Dan & Zara and Rykard & Rachel were the bottom two couples. But there was surprise when Rykard fell on his sword and declared he wanted to go with his naughty nurse. I’m pretty sure the producers reminded him of his legally binding contract shortly after, hence him all being there at the time of writing this. But that telling off will be nothing compared to how Rachel deals with him now she knows about him and Liv.
There’s nothing worse than finding out your good guy is as bad as the rest. We’ve ALL been there Rachel, trust me.
